The EU Industry Days brought together in Málaga (FYCMA - Trade Fairs and Congress Center) the leaders of European industry to unlock the full potential of the Single Market, contribute to EU industrial policy, and foster innovation for a truly green, digital, and resilient EU industry.
With 1,800 registered professionals, 68 countries and more than 200 speakers, this 3-day event included a session called “Helping SMEs to go digital: European Digital Innovation Hubs and other networks”.
This session aimed to present key initiatives for boosting SMEs' digitalisation, in particular the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH), but also other networks or initiatives such as the European Enterprise Network or the Spanish Digital Tool Kit.
Concerning EDIH, the European Commission is focused on the standardisation of procedures and services EDIH across Europe can offer not only to SMEs but also to other types of entities. In order to do that and reinforce EDIH capacities, the Digital Transformation Accelerator (DTA) services are starting to be implemented for the EDIH network.
Also, the European Enterprise Network was presented. A network with many similarities with the EDIH network, aiming at helping SMEs to go internationally. It is formed by more than 458 organisations from 39 countries around Europe and with alliances all over the world.
The Andalucia Agrotech Digital Innovation Hub, part of the regional node of Andalusia in the frame of the S3P on Traceability and Big Data in the agrifood value chain thematic partnership, also had the opportunity to share its experience with the audience. José Antonio Adame, technician of the Andalucia Agrotech DIH talked about the DIH composition, services and the projects and initiatives that are being developed with regards to the digitalisation of the agrifood sector.
