Last 1st. Of December, Elvira Domingo from the EIT Food joined us in our “Traceability and Big Data” webinar series to present the different initiatives to be launched in the first quarter of 2021 by this European Institute of Food and Technology.
The EIT is an EU body created by the European Union in 2008 to strengthen Europe’s ability to innovate. The EIT is an integral part of Horizon 2020, the EU’s Framework Program for Research and Innovation. During her presentation, Elvira Domingo presented the agri-food programs and activities of the EIT Food Europe with specific attention to the activities launched within the EIT Food South.
EIT aims at supporting sustainable and healthier food systems in which the consumer can trust. They provide guidance and acceleration to innovation processes in this field, at the value chain level.
EIT Communities act via open calls to designate sustainable and ambitious entities to act as EIT Hubs. Through these hubs network, EIT insures the active involvement of local knowledge and also facilitates co-creation and access to business developers, investors networks and public funding sources.
