ICT-BIOCHAIN, a European project coordinated by the Andalusian Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development, has released an innovative platform to connect biomass suppliers and stakeholders from the biobased industries with ICT technology providers, with the goal to increase the efficiency of the biomass supply chain using new technologies.
This online tool, available from its website, is the first-of-its-kind to store and share information regarding regional biomass resources, potential opportunities to improve the biomass supply chain efficiency, and data on the state-of-the-art of ICT, Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 solutions applicable to biomass supply chains.
This platform has just been presented at the webinar ‘Tools to enhance efficiency and sustainability in the bio-based industry’ hold on April 2, and it has been updated with the rest of the value chains of the project with a view to its dissemination in the final event on May the 28th.
On the other hand, ICT- BIOCHAIN has also offered information so that other European regions can replicate the implementation of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) in the bioeconomy sector, for which both, the analysis of the region and stakeholder involvement, are essential. During the development of this European project, Andalusia and Ireland have created their own DIH to boost the industry linked to the bioeconomy.
The results of the project and the e-learning materials of the same along with the platform and the model will be available during the two years after the project finalisation, that is, until May 2022.
