Representatives of the nineteen promoter entities of the Interreg VA Spain-Portugal program (POCTEP) with a budget of 5.3 million euros held the kick-off meeting in Córdoba (Spain), an event presided by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Development Sustainable of Andalusia, Carmen Crespo.
The Minister highlighted the strategic importance of this project based on an open, multi-stakeholder and multi-regional cooperation approach, constituting a hybrid space for training and entrepreneurship integrating multidisciplinary teams and targeting different levels of agricultural qualification, and providing services for the testing and application of innovative technologies in the agri-food sector.
The project will create testing services on technologies related to earth observation, robotics, internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence; it will include training on digital transformation and entrepreneurship for vocational training, university and civil society; in addition, it will implement an assessment service on digital transformation for agrifood SMEs.
As part of the HIBA’s kick-off, the nineteen entities held a technical meeting where the different work packages were analysed.
