Progress Update: ReScoping Service Advances Efforts in Traceability & Big Data

The ReScoping Service, the second initiative provided by the S3 Community of Practice to the Thematic Partnership on Traceability & Big Data, continues to make significant progress in collaboration with the Partnership's Working Groups (WGs).

Throughout December, specific efforts have been directed toward refining approaches and advancing the work of the WGs:

  • Interoperability WG
Building on discussions held during the S3 Conference in Rimini, the Interoperability WG identified a need for specialized support in data expertise. This initiative has gained momentum with the active involvement of the S3 Community of Practice.
  • Circular Bioeconomy WG
Participants of the Circular Bioeconomy WG have received a comprehensive analysis of the survey results conducted among group members. An action plan has been established to guide implementation over the coming months, targeting practical outcomes with the regions engaged in this effort.
  • Transversal WG on T&BD Road Map
In-depth analysis of survey data gathered from regional stakeholders has been completed. This work focuses on shaping the future Community of Learning while aligning expectations and objectives in this key area of development.

Looking ahead, ReScoping Service experts will prepare scoping notes to provide strategic guidance and clarity for the continued work of the WGs. These notes will assist in translating insights into actionable plans, with further conclusions expected in the coming months.

Furthermore, during the S3 Conference, it was announced that the third service to be provided by the S3 Community of Practice will commence in the second quarter of 2025, signaling future opportunities for collaboration and advancement in this domain.

Traceability & Big Data through its Working Groups remains committed to driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and delivering impactful solutions for the digitisation of the agrifood value chain.
